Okay, so I know you're supposed to gain weight, but holy jesus! I had my 28 week appointment today with a Glucose Test as a chaser. Yummy... wait, no. A sugary lemon-lime concoction was slammed down in record timing and a timer set for an hour was put in place to track my sugary progression. I was in to see the (new) doctor in record timing... for that office anyways. It took about 15 minutes to take me back, get blood pressure, balance me on the scale (ouch), and tuck me away into an exam room. After recovering from the shock of already having gained 40 lbs thus far, I pulled out my word search and hunkered down for a lengthy wait. To my suprise the Dr. came in within 5 minutes. I liked this doctor. I have a thumbs up/thumbs down approach to all these OB/GYNs: My doctor, Dr. Marks: 2 thumbs up, Birtch-White: not so much, Llewellyn: thumbs up. I've got 2 more doctors in the practice to meet, and I know I don't like one of them already... I just can't remember which one it is. I had a bad experience with her on the phone 2 years ago, and I could do without a repeat performance. Apparently, my cankles are due to the weight gain. Fun! I'm doing what I can to keep the weight gain down, but the 27 lbs gain during the first 3 months didn't help. :o( I am going to be a swollen blueberry by the time she gets here, tipping the scales over 200lbs. It makes me want to cry... a lot. I've reduced my sugar intake, move around more, blah blah blah... to no avail. I managed to gain 10 lbs in the last month. It's funny though, I don't feel like I've gained that much, but on the other hand, its hard to tell when your stomach is ever growing.
On another note, I did hear from Frank's mom and he is doing wonderfully. He is finally settled into his routine and got one last call home before retiring to pen and paper for the duration of his boot camp. His graduation date looks like it wont be until the last week of June... which is disappointing since Skylar will surely be here by then. I wish he would be able to be here for when she does, but I guess it is for a good reason.
School is moving along nicely. I wish I had some more concentration abilities, but I will take what I can get. I have about 5 more weeks left of the semester, 2 papers, and 3 exams. I will definitely be glad when this semester is over... just in time for me to start nesting, cleaning, worrying, and maybe relax for the last time EVER. :o) My mom and I will be putting together the baby shower invitations this week, since they have to go out by the end of the week.
Until later...!
